Corey Taylor sobre o Comic Con: “Eu sempre serei fã”
Claro que o Corey Taylor é uma estrela de rock. Mas quando ele está na Comic Con em New York, ele é como qualquer outro fã de quadrinhos: feliz por estar lá e no atrás de seus ícones. Taylor foi gentil o suficiente para deixar a Fuse segui-lo enquanto ele passeava durante o último fim de semana para promover seu próximo quadrinho, baseado no novo álbum do Stone Sour: House of Gold & Bones Part 1.
O evento foi especial para Taylor, em parte porque ele tem sido um fã de quadrinho por muito tempo. “Eu comecei a ler quadrinhos quando criança,” ele nos disse. “Minha mãe tinha um monte de quadrinhos da Marvel que eu reivindiquei como meus. É como eu cheguei à leitura. Eu não estava realmente lendo quando eu era mais jovem, mas depois que comecei a ler quadrinhos, eu entrei na leitura. Eu virei um fã desde então. Já estive níveis variados. Mas eu estava em meio aos quadrinhos. Então eu fiquei realmente em meio a figuras de ação e filmes e coisas assim. A minha vida inteira. É algo que eu realmente sou apaixonado e sempre fui”.
Mesmo aos 38 anos, com milhões de discos vendidos e inúmeros fãs, a paixão ainda está nitidamente lá, evidenciada pela emoção de Taylor quando encontrou o lendário escritor de quadrinhos, Garth Ennis. “Eu nem sequer tive tempo para dizer o quão grande ele é“, disse-nos no caminho para conhecer o autor de Preacher. “É uma loucura“.
Após encontrar Ennis, Taylor ficou obviamente emocionado. “Eu acabei de conhecer o Garth Ennis”,disse. “Eu estou tão feliz agora. Estou enlouquecendo”.
Ele começou a explicar que, manter o seu entusiasmo por seus herois é parte do que o inspira como músico. “Eu sempre serei fã, se estas são as pessoas que eu cresci ouvindo ou lendo os quadrinhos”, disse ele. “Ainda fico animado sobre isso. Corey Taylor on the Comic Con: "I'll always be a fan"

Clear that Corey Taylor is a rock star. But when he's at Comic Con in New York, he is like any other comic book fan: happy to be there and behind your icons. Taylor was kind enough to let Fuse follow him as he walked during the last weekend to promote his upcoming comic book based on the new Stone Sour album: House of Gold & Bones Part 1.
The event was special for Taylor, partly because he has been a comic fan for a long time. "I started reading comics as a kid," he told us. "My mother had a lot of Marvel comics that I claimed as mine. It's how I got to reading. I was not really reading when I was younger, but then I started reading comics, I got into reading. I became a fan ever since. I've been varying levels. But I was among the comics. So I was really in the midst of action figures and movies and stuff. My whole life. It's something I'm really passionate and always have been. "
Even at age 38, with millions of records sold and numerous fans, the passion is still clearly there, evidenced by emotion when Taylor met legendary comic book writer Garth Ennis. "I did not even have time to say how great it is," he told us on the way to meet the author of Preacher. "It's crazy."
After finding Ennis, Taylor was obviously thrilled. "I just know the Garth Ennis," he said. "I'm so happy now. I'm going crazy. "
He began to explain that, keep your enthusiasm for your heroes is part of what inspires you as a musician. "I'll always be a fan, if these are the people I grew up listening to or reading the comics," he said. "I still get excited about it. If I can not get excited about meeting other people, how can I get excited about doing my own music? ".
He also explained some of the rules of Comic Con: "If you get into a fight at Comic-Con, you certainly are an idiot."
